After Ayudha Ezhuthu director Manirathnam seems to have gone into a shell. But his Madras Talkies is all set to produce a film.

Manirathnam's home production would star actor Madhavan, his favourite, in the lead role.

Director Azhagam Perumal, a one-time associate of Manirathnam, will direct the story penned by S Ramakrishnan.

A romantic entertainer, the movie is expected to go to floors in a couple of months.

Azhagam Perumal had earlier directed Dum Dum Dum starring Madhavan for Manirathnam's Madras Talkies a couple of years ago.

Though the movie succeeded, Azhagam Perumal's next Udhaya starring Vijay had a delayed release and his Jhoot starring Srikanth failed to impress the audience.

Having hit a low, Azhagam Perumal is keen to erase the bad past and render a big hit in order to sustain in the industry.

Both him and Madhavan have the backing of their mentor.
